Abstract

This paper presents a case study on a company that encountered numerous challenges resulting from mergers and acquisitions of other companies as well as a new strategy to promote organic growth. To address some of these challenges, a new process, systems, and applications were developed to enable the company to shift from providing primarily products to their customers to products and services. This new process together with the resources captures information on what services are performed, why the services are performed, and how the services are performed; thus facilitating this new business model. The results from this work position the company with a sustainable competitive advantage in the global marketplace.
