Abstract
In this paper, a new linear pseudo-servo hydraulic control system is introduced. In the hydraulic control system, we use conventional solenoid valves, hydraulic cylinders and a Programmable-Logic-Controller (PLC) to construct a translational actuators. With the PLC controlling instantaneous signal change, i.e., on and off in solenoid valves, we can simulate a pseudo servo motion for the hydraulic cylinders. Although, the performance of the actuator system is not quite ideal compared to the general hydraulic servo valves and servo-actuator system, the price of the actuator system is much lower and the installation of this control system is much easier. The control system is discussed in this paper and the control characteristics of the actuator system are presented fromexperimentalresults.
