Abstract
In this section we present several industry-related applications that are using concepts similar to the ones described in the previous chapters of this book. We start by exploring a system which provides estimations for the 2-D or 3-D positions of a point target with high resolution. The superresolved position estimation to be utilized with pixelated detector arrays is obtained by the use of an optical element that replicates the imaged point source on the detector array plane. The method for designing this element is based on ideas presented in [47], [48], [76], [87], [88], [89]. A relatively simplified computation algorithm applied on the composite image yields the desired position estimation. The described system is used for medical applications.
