Abstract

Upon completion of the chapter, the student will be able to:

  1. 1.

    Describe the prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) and its impact on quality of life in older men.

  2. 2.

    Describe the age-related changes in male sexuality.

  3. 3.

    Understand the pathophysiology of ED.

  4. 4.

    Describe recommended diagnostic evaluation of ED.

  5. 5.

    Enumerate the five main treatment options for ED, and discuss the risks and benefits of each.
