Abstract

Contemporary scientific research, occupied with the problem of comparative research into the development of normal and abnormal children, proceeds from the general assumption that the laws governing the development of normal and abnormal children alike are basically the same. In the same way, the laws governing vital activity remain fundamentally the same, whether for normal or ill-functioning conditions in an organ or organism of the body. The task of comparative psychology is precisely to find the general laws which characterize the normal and abnormal development of a child and which wholly encompass all areas of child development.
