Abstract
The following chapter is dedicated to the study of the numerical eigenvalue problem of linear algebra
where A is a quadratic matrix of order n and x is an eigenvector corresponding to the eigenvalue λ ∈ C. For an elementary introduction to applied linear algebra we recommend the well-written and extremely stimulating textbook [61] of C. D. Meyer. As for the numerical aspects of linear algebra, the classical textbook [41] by G. H. Golub and C. van Loan has set a standard over the years.
