Abstract
We have introduced a numerical index for CP-semigroups P in Chapter 9. If P preserves the unit, then it can be dilated to an E0-semigroup, and it was shown that the index of P agrees with the index of its minimal dilation. However, no examples were discussed and no computations were made. In particular, the results of Chapter 9 give no information about which E0-semigroups can occur as the minimal dilations of unital completely positive semigroups acting on matrix algebras.
