In this chapter, we shall further consider models for data collected over time. However, here the data typically consist of a number of relatively short series of data collected in time order (such data are commonly referred to as longitudinal data). For example, in the next section we shall consider a real example which involves four measurements in time order collected for each of 27 children (i.e., 16 males and 11 females).
