Psychodynamic Approaches to Personality
We have looked at the determinants and the development of personality, and we now turn our attention to the nature of personality itself. That is, to the processes within the individual that go to make up what we call personality, and to the way in which these processes interact with each other and with other people. Psychologists have put forward various descriptions and explanations of these processes, often in sharp conflict with each other, but in the following chapters I shall attempt to show how many of these descriptions and explanations carry, in their different ways, considerable practical implications for the workplace.
