Abstract
Only a brief note tonight to tell you of my constant love for you. And to say this — that after a nights reflection I am quite certain that one thing I said last night is not true, namely that my complete happiness would depend on whether you could rule me or not. Childie darling, I’m quite quite sure that it doesn’t depend on that at all — it only depends on love. In all the big, serious things you already rule me by love and I really know and feel that so complete already is your rule and dominion over me, that if you chose, you shall rule me in the little things by love also. Childie dear, I do love you so. I read and reread your dear letter. I am so glad that you love the little places. To lie down and poke my nose into a little ferny mossy nook makes me feel all pathetic and lonely, whereas old Mont Blanc leaves me unmoved.
