A Measure of Normality
In her letter of 4th February, Molly reminded Barnes that one year ago the quarantine for German Measles had kept her away from College for weeks, with the result that the current part of the syllabus was entirely new to her. Barnes dragged himself out of the transports of a lover and applied himself without much joy to physics. The two chapters which followed were far briefer than those for Calculus or Trigonometry. They were titled but not numbered, and they do not carry Molly’s own pagination which had run through the previous eighteen chapters.
