Abstract

The Global Leadership Forecast Study 2008/2009 (Global Leadership Forecast 2008/2009, Executive Summary, Howard and Wellins) reveals an interesting study by Development Dimensions International (DDI), a global workforce and leadership training, staffing, and assessment firm based in Bridgeville, PA. This study indicates that companies are at risk of losing a substantial number of their executives within the next five years. The study also states that 75 percent of executives surveyed for the Global Leadership Forecast 2008/2009 identified improving or leveraging their leadership talent as a top business priority. Yet, despite recognition of its importance, leadership development is going nowhere fast. Currently, most leaders are not satisfied with their organization’s development offerings. Confidence in leaders has also steadily declined since 2000.
