Abstract
Isoxazolines and isoxazols serve as important building blocks in the construction of new molecular systems and functional groups. Syntheses of these building blocks were easily achieved by the cycloaddition of nitrile oxides derived from oximes with alkenes. This chapter comprises the utilization of oximes for the synthesis of various biologically active molecules such as ptilocaulin, amphotericin, macrolides, etc. Synthesis of oxazines via 4+2 cycloaddition of in situ generated nitrosoolefins from ketoximes with alkenes are also included in this chapter.
