Zusammenfassung
XML findet in vielen Bereichen von Business-Intelligence-Systemen ein breites Einsatzspektrum. Schwerpunkte liegen dabei in der Definition von Austauschprotokollen für die Integration und Präsentation von Nutz- und Metadaten. XML-Core-Standards und Business-Intelligence-spezifische Austauschprotokolle sorgen durch Offenheit, Flexibilität, Erweiterbarkeit und Plattformunabhängigkeit insbesondere für Interoperabilität in heterogenen Systemumgebungen und Investitionsschutz für Anwender. Der Beitrag beschreibt vor diesem Hintergrund die wesentlichen Standards und zeigt ihren Einsatz in BI-Systemen auf.
