Abstract
Rapid developments in the field of new light sources are seen as positive, yet at the same time we are sometimes overwhelmed by an excess of light. The increasing light efficiency of most lamps is recognised as a useful development, and there is now also a wider range of uses for this technology. Unfortunately, however, we use the improved light sources in a careless manner. Badly utilised lighting creates annoyance. A consideration of professional use of the technology would appear to be necessary.
