Abstract
This paper presents a six-level classification scheme for Web-Based Training covering features, course development, and course administration. After a brief background review of current trends in distributed training, a classification of Web-Based Training features is presented. Intelligent features such as intelligent tutoring and intelligent agents fall with-in the highest level of the classification scheme. The Smart Center is then described demonstrating the features of a level 4 Web-Based Training site. This is followed by a discussion of the administrative requirements for a Center. The classification schemes for course development standards and course administrative standards are presented within the scope of this discussion.
