Tests of predictions from chiral perturbation theory for πN scattering

Abstract

Problems are discussed which arise in determinations of πN scattering amplitudes from data and in analytic continuations to the unphysical subthreshold region, which are needed for tests of predictions from Chiral Perturbation Theory.
