Abstract
Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) theory and several of its recent applications to problems of nuclear structure at low energies are discussed, such as isotope shifts in the Pb region, rotational bands in superdeformed nuclei, the problem of identical bands, a relativistic theory of pairing correlations in nuclei and dynamical investigations of the time-dependent relativistic mean field equations for the description of giant resonances.
