Abstract

Process, organizational, analytical, and technological models for improving software engineering work are developed as a result of research in software engineering. These models have a variety of uses in the research community and the software development community, however, models must be tuned for a particular audience and goal. Portfolios of models must be developed with selection criteria to indicate where each is applicable. The concept of “model” goes beyond these meanings as it extends into models/processes for technology transfer and for evaluation of transfer.
