The quark model, the baryon-baryon interaction and hypernuclei

Abstract

We have extracted from our quark model calculations of the hyperonnucleon interaction an equivalent non-local AN potential at the baryon level. Using this potetial the binding energy of the hypernucleus Δ 5 He is calculated as 2 Mev. The shape of the bound state wave function of this hypernucleus is checked by comuting the mesonic decay rates. A nice agreement with experimental data is found.
