Dynamical supersymmetry for mesons and baryons

Abstract

An approximate dynamical supersymmetry exists between mesons and baryons. This supersymmetry arises in QCD dynamics because both diquarks and antiquarks belong to \(\bar 3\) multiplets of color SU(3). The supersymmetry is broken by mass and size differences between diquarks and antiquarks and also by spin-dependent QCD forces. I discuss a method to use this supersymmetry to obtain the masses of some baryons from the masses of the corresponding mesons.
