Abstract

High resolution observations of the 95 GHz Class I methanol maser transition and the CS J = 2 → 1 line toward the W33 and W51 star-forming regions were made with the BIMA array. In both cases, the methanol maser positions are distinctly offset from continuum sources and water maser centers but agree with positions of known masers in other methanol lines. In W33 the 95 GHz masers arise from several spots that are close to a high density clump marked by CS emission. Strong thermal emission from methanol is seen toward the W51 e1/e2 ultracompact HII regions.
