Abstract

This paper describes the concept of an intelligent tutoring system (ITS) for application in highly innovative technical domains, e.g. for training operators of public communication systems. The basic approach taken for student and tutor modelling is discussed, as well as the knowledge acquisition process for elicitation and representation of domain and tutor knowledge regarding domain specific restrictions. Finally, results of a test and a prototype implementation are presented.
