Abstract
DSS ([1],[2],[3]) is a powerful simulation tool (event driven simulator+simulation environment) that provides efficient simulation of distributed algorithms by modelling the specs of a distributed algorithm as a set of communicating automata with countable number of states. DSS has been implemented under the BRA ALCOM project. The user has to provide the specs of the distributed algorithms and the topology of the interconnections in the distributed system. The degree of asynchrony (process rates, message delays) can also be specified in a flexible way.
