Abstract
This paper describes a computational approach to lexical discrimination. A multilevel semantics approach is assumed in which at least two levels are relevant: the lexical level, described here, at which lexical discrimination is carried out, and the logical-interpretative level, at which the sentence interpretation is accomplished within the system domain model. Given that both the lexical and the interpretation level make reference to the same knowledge a strategy is proposed to maintain consistency among lexical discrimination, sentence interpretation and domain model knowledge.
