Equilibrium surface segregation in solid binary alloys

Abstract

As briefly shown, various refined calculations are currently being developped to study surface segregation. In this case, a qualitative agreement is observed between experimental and theoretical results. To complete this rapid overview, two methods are worthy of mention : the phase portrait technique, developed by Treglia et al [15] to study the stability of various solution of eq. 1, and the M.C. simulations developed by Foiles [16] with the Embedded Atom Method.
