Abstract
We have investigated the electron capture to the continuum of projectile resulting from 200–300 keV H + - He collisions. These data are fitted to a generic expression of Meckbach et al. [Phys. Rev. A 24 1793 (1981)]. It was found to be of crucial importance the adequate determination of the spectrometer transmission function which strongly influences the result of the fitting. The asymmetry ratio depends linearly while the fitting (shape) parameters do not depend on the angular acceptance for the measured cusp peaks. These observations are in contradiction to the results of Oswald et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 62 1114 (1989)].
