Second-order asymptotic inversions of the sound speed inside the sun

Abstract

We report the results of nonlinear inversions of the sound speed using the second-order asymptotic theory of solar acoustic oscillations. Three data sets are used for the inversions: the eigen-frequencies of solar model SNG1 of Shibahashi, Noels, and Gabriel, the eigenfrequencies of solar model 1 of Christensen-Dalsgaard, and the observational frequencies.
