Abstract

A prediction of the astrophysical sources at low radio frequencies requires a deep understanding of the cosmic engines. Even when coherent processes are ignored, there are a number of uncertainties due to alternative explanations of the known sources, such as supernovae and supernova shells, the bipolar-flow family, and the galactic chimneys. An attempt is made to classify them as either magnetic centrifuges or magnetic reconnectors. It is not clear whether or not we have identified the cosmic-ray boosters; low-frequency observations may help disclose them.
