Abstract
Further studies have to be carried out to improve the description of the dominant processes which govern the propagation of turbulent flames. Of special interest is the influence of laminar flame speed in the balance equations for the flame areas. But the present calculations prove the ability of the extended flamelet description to compute nonsteady phenomena, and to describe the transition between a premixed and nonpremixed flame configuration.
