Infrared extinction at Sutherland

Abstract

Measurements of the extinction coefficients per unit airmass in the JHKL (1.25, 1.65, 2.2 and 3.5 μm) bands are presented. The nightly values of the photometric zero-points have also been analysed. It is shown that there is large scatter and an annual variation in the J-H and K-L zero-points while that for H-K is very stable.
