Abstract
The observed HNC/HCN (J=1-0) intensity ratios are consistent with the result that the HNC to HCN abundance ratio is order of 1 in cold dark clouds.
The HNC and NH3 observations towards L1551 suggest a correlation between the abundances of those molecules.
The observed HCN (J=1-0) hyperfine ratios show relatively large variations of R02 in certain ranges of R12. It is difficult to explain this by population variations of the J=1 F=0 state. Scattering in the foreground gas seems more likely.
The observed R12 ratios towards the core of L810 imply that the population of the J=1 F=1 state is dimished relative to that of the F=2 state. This may be a case where the thermal overlap model presented by Guilloteau and Baudry (1981) is applicable.
