Abstract

We have mapped the high latitude cloud L1642 (1=2100 °. 77, b=−36 °. 072) in the HI, CO(J=1-0) and HCO+(J=1-0) lines and L1551 in the HCO+(J=1-0) line. We present results concerning the effects of the asymmetrical UV radiation field of OB stars on L1642 as well as the influences of low-mass star formation on L1642 (n < 104 cm −3). The observations reveal in L1642 a weak 12CO outflow associated with IRAS 04325-1419 and an HCO+ outflow associated with L1551 IRS-5.
