Co-ordination in Artificial Agent Societies

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNAI,volume 1535))

Abstract

Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) is concerned with systems of interacting artificial agents. Co-ordination provides the “control structures” in such a system. Hence, almost every DAI approach is somehow concerned with co-ordination. As the problem of co-ordination might be conceived in different ways, its importance may vary along with the different approaches. However, none of them can completely ignore it.
