Abstract
Although multimedia services and security are topics fully relevant in many areas, there is no doubt that they are key in the context of Intelligence of Services and Networks (IS&N). If audio and video, and other information types requiring an important amount of bandwidth, are to be transferred, this should be taken into account in the design of networks. On the other hand, security is also relevant in the design of both the distributed applications and the network itself.
