Abstract
This paper evaluates, models and compares the performance of the message-passing libraries provided by the Fujitsu AP3000 multicomputer: MPI/AP, PVM/AP and Fujitsu APlib (versions 1.0). Our aim is to characterize the basic communication routines using general models. Several representative parameters and performance metrics help to compare the different primitives and to detect inefficient implementations.
