Abstract

Several basic types of prepositional group (PG) syntactic ambiguity is presented in the paper. Criteria for automatic PG-disambiguation are proposed and illustrated: (i) the possible contribution of valency frames of verbs, nouns and adjectives, (ii) the notion of verbonominal expressions, (iii) the possibility of defining some formal criteria (based on word order) and (iv) the reliability of semantic features is discussed.
