Abstract
Chapter 2 summarized the properties of bound states in constrained two-dimensional structures. In this chapter we discuss transmission and conductance through these 2-D systems. Section 3.1 considers the physics of transmission and reflection through long curved tubes. Some general formulas are derived for such systems, and examples of transmission in simple geometries are studied. In later chapters these formulas are applied to tubes with various geometries.
