Abstract
The management system is based on a formal model which is called management model. This model is described informally in the current chapter and will be formalized in the next chapter. It is composed of the following parts:

The product management model (Section 8.1) is concerned with the products of the development process and serves as the basis for version and configuration management of interdependent documents.

The activity management model (Section 8.2) describes development tasks and their relationships and provides the foundation for planning, analysis, and execution of tasks.
-
Finally, the resource management model (Section 8.3) covers both human and computer resources required for executing development tasks.
