Abstract
In the previous chapter, we gave an overview on process management. The following chapters focus on different areas of process management (management of products, activities, and resources, respectively). We describe the spectrum of approaches developed in these areas and provide taxonomies for classifying them. In each chapter, we first classify management models and then apply the classification to a sample selection of tools. In this way, the reader is supplied with a conceptual framework for the management of development processes and an overview of supporting tools. At the end of each chapter, we make some remarks on the current state of the art. Apart from that, we keep the discussion as neutral as possible.
