Color-Octet Contributions to Inelastic Heavy-Quarkonium Production

Abstract

The color-octet mechanism based on the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization approach in inclusive heavy quarkonium production in high energy processes is reviewed. As phenomenological applications, we discuss charmonium production at HERA and Υ production associated with weak gauge bosons at the LHC.
