Abstract

Simulation can reduce the development time of complex applications in science and engineering. We designed HeRMeS, a tool offering dynamic load balancing support which allows to perform numerical simulations on a heterogeneous collection of distributed memory machines. This can serve as a testbed for testing new dynamic data redistribution methods in heterogeneous environments as well as a platform for testing adaptive numerical solvers with built-in heterogeneous dynamic load balancing support.
