Abstract

In this article we show that the n-dimensional state of an observable discrete-time nonlinear SISO system can always be exactly synthesized by means of a “structural reconstructor” which only requires knowledge of a finite number of delayed inputs and delayed outputs. This fact, when combined with the difference flatness of the system, results in an effective systematic feedback control scheme which avoids the need for traditional asymptotic state observers.
