Abstract
An AOCS application instantiated from the AOCS software will be built as a collection of software components. These components interact by exchanging data. In an AOCS context, two major categories of data can be recognized. Event data are produced asynchronously by components that wish to signal a change in their internal state or the occurrence of some event. Examples of events include the notification of an error condition, the notification of a unit reconfiguration, or the notification of a successful telecommand execution. Cyclical Data (also called AOCS data) are instead data that are produced or consumed on a periodic basis by AOCS components. Examples include the output data produced by sensor components, the torque requests produced by the controller component, or the telemetry data produced by the telemeterable components.
