Abstract
Web cac hing is a commonly-used method to reduce access time for retrieving Web documents over the Internet. The tw o most commonly-used Web browsers, Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer, ho w ever, do not provide all the basic operations, i.e. add, delete, and update, for their users to manage Web caches. Hence, the user cannot modify (un)desired cached documents, and as a result the availability of Web documents to be accessed decreases, e.g. the network may be down when the user tries to access the documents. In this paper, we present a client-based Web-cac he management that allo ws the user to have full control on managing cached documents.
