PVMaple: A Distributed Approach to Cooperative Work of Maple Processes

Abstract

We study the issue of interconnecting computer algebra system Maple and the message passing environment PVM. A prototype system, namely PVMaple, is presented. The system allows to create concurrent tasks and have them executed by Maple kernels running on different machines of a network.
