Abstract

This paper presents ideas on how to effectively introduce and use agile development within a company that has a strong connection to waterfall-style development. It addresses the shifts in business and technical areas the company and others face today and examines the impact those shifts have on the software development process and the thinking about that process. It also characterizes the experience of an Extreme Programming project within the company and offers recommendations based on that experience.
