Abstract
It is commonly agreed nowadays that information structure is a crucial aspect of the linguistic meaning of a sentence and its interpretation in discourse context. Here, we present an information-structure sensitive account of discourse interpretation, formalized as a hybrid modal logic, which can be smoothly related to a dependency grammar. This formalization creates a bridge between the Praguian approach to information structure and contemporary accounts of dynamic discourse interpretation.
