Zusammenfassung

Noch zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts war die Tuberkulose des Gastrointestinaltraktes eine häufige und gefürchtete Erkrankung. Sie galt als unheilbar, und wenn es doch zu einer Heilung kam, zweifelte man eher die Diagnose an, als dies auf die gute Behandlung bzw. das Glück des Patienten zurückzuführen. Mittlerweile zählt die tuberkulöse Enterokolitis zu den seltenen Komplikationen einer Tuberkulose und wird daher mehr unerwartet als erwartet diagnostiziert.
