Zusammenfassung

Aeromonas hydrophilia wurde erstmals 1984 von der USamerikanischen Food and Drug Administration (FDA) als »new foodborne pathogen« eingestuft. Nach epidemiologischen Studien kommen noch weitere Stämme dieser aufgrund von molekulargenetischen Studien neu eingerichteten Familie in Betracht. Es handelt sich hierbei um gramnegative, fakultativ anaerobe oxidasepositive Stäbe, von denen derzeit 14 Genospezies und 10 Phenospezies bekannt sind [14].
